The Seton Hall Pirates are set to play the Oregon Ducks tonight for the final game of the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Pirates beat Florida A&M 87-51, and Oregon beat Houston 78-66 the last time they played. These teams have only met once on the court back in the year 2000 with Seton Hall winning 72-71. 

SETON HALL PIRATES

The Pirates’ imposing frontline includes a pair of 7-2 centers in sophomore Ike Obiagu and senior Romaro Gill, who is averaging 5.6 points and 6.4 rebounds.

OREGON DUCKS

The Oregon Ducks average 80 points per game which is ranked #55 in the NCAA and 51% field-goal percentage which is ranked #9 and 42% from 3 which is #7 on offense. On Defense, the Ducks, allow 63 points per game and only 36% field-goal shooting allowing only 20% from three-point land.

Mathis made five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points in last Friday’s 78-66 victory over Houston while forward Francis Okoro added 12 points and four rebounds. The team’s offense starts with Pritchard, who scored 16 points in the win and is the only player ranked in the Pac-12’s top five in scoring and assists (5.4 per game). “The strength of Oregon’s team is their senior point guard,” Houston coach Kelvin Sampson told reporters. “He’s in complete control of every facet of their game.

MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Ducks can score a lot of points and the Pirates have a really good defense which will give the Ducks a lot of problems. Seton Hall’s defense could give them a chance to pull out the win in this game. However, The Ducks also have very good defense and have more experience on a neutral Court setting so far but Powell is the type of player that sometimes cannot be contained. Look for Powell to have a big game here.
