GIANTS VS BREWERS PREDICTION
Right-hander Corbin Burnes (6-4, 2.46 ERA) starts for the Brewers and right-hander Logan Webb (5-3, 3.33) gets the nod for the Giants. The Brewers bullpen has been hit by Covid and will need Burnes to go deep but that is not his specialty because he usually only goes about 5-6 innings. The Brewers’ COVID-19 injured list includes All-Star closer Josh Hader, who has converted 22 of 23 save opportunities and sports a 1.83 ERA. Relievers Hunter Strickland, Jake Cousins, and Jandel Gustave as well. Milwaukee has not been able to count on its offense to win games this season. San Francisco has the much better offense and is catching a nice price as a plus money dog. Webb is certainly good enough to match Burnes, who has a tougher challenge on his plate without his bullpen. The Giants lead the majors with 164 home runs and the return of first baseman Brandon Belt who was activated Thursday off the injured list. Look for the Giants to get the job done here.
