NCAA College Basketball Betting Analysis for February 26th

12:00 p.m. ET: Purdue Boilermakers (24-4) at Michigan St Spartans (18-9)

Spread: Purdue -5
Total: 147

The #4 Purdue Boilermakers face the Michigan State Spartans after Jaden Ivey scored 25 points in Purdue’s 84-72 victory against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Spartans are 10-3 on their home court and the Boilermakers are 13-4 against Big Ten opponents. Purdue is ranked #2 in college basketball in 3-point percentage, shooting 40.3% as a team from deep this season. After starting 14-2 and 5-0 in Big Ten play, Michigan State has lost 7 of its last 11 games and is now trying to hold on to hopes of an NCAA Tournament bid. This is a game when you would expect Tom Izzo to get his Spartans rolling into March like they usually do but facing a team as hot as Purdue will be a tough challenge. Michigan State will have to eliminate turnovers, force turnovers, win the rebounding battle, and get Purdue in foul trouble to have a chance here. Izzo works a lot of magic this time of year but Purdue is still going for the Big Ten conference title. The Home team is 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings but the Favorite is 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

2:00 p.m. ET: Kentucky Wildcats (23-5) at Arkansas Razorbacks (22-6)

Spread: Arkansas -2
Total: 147

The #18 Arkansas Razorbacks hosts the #6 Kentucky Wildcats after JD Notae scored 22 points in Arkansas’ 82-74 victory against the Florida Gators. The Razorbacks have gone 15-1 at home and the Wildcats are 12-3 in conference matchups. Kentucky leads the SEC scoring 80.6 points per game while shooting 48.6%. Jaylin Williams is averaging 10.4 points and 9.6 rebounds for the Razorbacks. Oscar Tshiebwe is scoring 16.4 points per game with 15.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists for the Wildcats. The Razorbacks are aiming for their second straight victory against the Wildcats. Arkansas overcame five double-figure scorers for host Kentucky to win 81-80 last season, stopping the Wildcats’ eight-game winning streak in the series. Ty Ty Washington is listed as questionable but Calipari has mentioned he is in no rush to get him back because he wants him at full strength for March. Arkansas has won 12 of their last 13 games by forcing their way to the free-throw line by attacking the rim. The Razorbacks are holding teams under 40% from the field in 4 of the last 6 games. With a banged-up Kentucky on the road facing a hot Arkansas team at home, the Razorbacks will have an edge. Kentucky is already looking ahead while Arkansas is still hungry to win. If Arkansas can shoot the ball well and keep Tshiebwe from dominating the glass they will have a good chance in this game. This line opened at Arkansas +2.5 and is now at -2.5 indicating some big sharp action that came in early on the Razorbacks even though the public is all over the Wildcats.

6:00 p.m. ET: Duke Blue Devils (24-4) at Syracuse Orange (15-13)

Spread: Duke -7.5
Total: 151.5

Syracuse hosts the #7 Duke Blue Devils after Jimmy Boeheim scored 27 points in Syracuse’s 79-69 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Orange have gone 11-3 in home games and the Blue Devils are 14-3 against ACC opponents. Duke scores 79.5 points and has outscored opponents by an average of 14.4 points per game. The teams square off for the 2nd time this season in ACC play after the Blue Devils won the first matchup 79-59 on Jan. 22. Paolo Banchero scored 15 points to help lead the Blue Devils to the win. Duke’s Krzyzewski and Syracuse’s Boeheim square off for what could be the final time. Krzyzewski is the winningest coach in Division I basketball history, while Boeheim ranks second on the all-time victories list. The two coaching legends have met 16 times over the years, with Coach K holding an 11-5 advantage. Syracuse has been better at home this season posting wins against Indiana and Wake Forest and the Orange haven’t lost a game at home when the students have been on campus all year. Syracuse will need to play great on the defensive end and knock down a lot of 3’s to have a chance to beat this Duke team. After the blowout loss on the road to the Dukies you can expect this team to give it their all today to keep this game close. The Orange have won 5 straight at home averaging over 80 points per game.

8:00 p.m. ET: Kansas Jayhawks (23-4) at Baylor Bears(23-5)

Spread: Baylor -3
Total: 150

The #10 Baylor Bears hosts the #5 Kansas Jayhawks after Adam Flagler scored 29 points in Baylor’s 66-64 overtime victory against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Bears are 13-2 on their home court. Baylor is second in the Big 12 scoring 77.1 points while shooting 46.7% from the field. The Jayhawks are 12-2 in Big 12 play. These teams square off for the 2nd time this season in Big 12 play after the Jayhawks won the first matchup 83-59 on Feb. 5. Ochai Agbaji scored 18 points to help lead the Jayhawks to the victory. This line opened with Baylor as a 3-point home favorite and the public is jumping on the Jayhawks grabbing the points. Despite this lopsided betting, several books moved the line further toward Baylor (-3 to -3.5). When two ranked teams face-off, the favorite is 41-28 ATS (59%) this season. Ken Pom has Baylor winning by 4 points (78-74). This is also a revenge game for Baylor, who got rolled by Kansas 83-59 on February 5th. Baylor should have fewer turnovers on home court and can absolutely exploit Kansas’ overrated defense in this game. Baylor has its issues, but Kansas doesn’t defend the rim or rebound very well. The Bears have won 4 of their last 5 games and 13 of their 15 home games and are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. They have also cut back on their turnovers and won’t give the Jayhawks a lot of easy scoring opportunities. The Jayhawks are playing well, but they aren’t as efficient on the road and will have a hard time slowing down the Bears. The Jayhawks will need to duplicate their performance from the first matchup which will be tough to do on the road against a hungry team looking for revenge.
