7:10 p.m. ET: San Francisco Giants (7-4) at New York Mets (9-3)
Odds: Giants -115 / Mets +105
Over/Under: 6.5 -115/-105
The Mets will look to clinch a series win Wednesday night when they host the Giants in the third game of a four-game set after sweeping yesterday’s double-header. Right-hander Chris Bassitt (2-0, 0.75 ERA) is slated to start for the Mets against left-hander Carlos Rodon (1-0, 1.50). Bassitt and Rodon both earned a win in their most recent appearance last Friday. Bassitt gave up one run on two hits over six innings as the Mets beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-3, and Rodon allowed one run on two hits over seven innings in the Giants’ 4-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Bassitt is 1-1 with a 1.96 ERA in three career starts against the Giants. Rodon has never opposed the Mets. Both these starters have had good starts to the season, but neither pitched against a tough lineup yet. The Giants are much better against righties ranked 9th in the league in wOBA. The Mets used their whole bullpen in yesterday’s doubleheader while the Giants have plenty of good arms left. The Giants have had some success against Bassitt as well with Bart(.333), Casali(.500), Crawford (.500), and Ruf(.333). Look for the Giants to come out strong today to get the win.
