Seattle’s highly anticipated right-hander Matt Brash will make his debut against the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox are going with Vince Velasquez who went 3-9 with a 6.30 ERA in 25 games between the Phillies and the Padres last season. This line opened with the Mariners listed at +130 dogs and despite the public pounding the favorite, we have seen reverse line movement bringing the line down to +110. The White Sox have the better offense but the Mariners have a better bullpen. Seattle’s rookie should be able to perform better than the struggling Vasquez. The White Sox have Tim Anderson back but are still missing a few bats. Take the Mariners to pull off a win.

This is another game we have reverse line movement with the public pounding the Angels. The Marlins line opened at +160 and it’s down to +130 despite nearly 70% of the tickets coming in on LA. The Marlins have struggled offensively but the Angels have as well. The Marlins have faced good pitching to start the year so you have to give them some credit with the runs scored against the Giants. This Angels pitching staff is weak, especially in the bullpen. Luzardo played for Oakland previously and knows the lineup. He has had some success against this Angels lineup giving up only 1 hit in 11 at-bats which was a home run by Ohtani. Take the value with the Marlins to get the job done.

9:45 p.m. ET: San Diego Padres (4-1) at San Francisco Giants (2-2)

Alex Cobb will be making his Giants debut after coming off one of his best seasons in a while. Cobb had a really good season with the Angels and a great spring, going 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA. These Padres hitters also didn’t face him last season which gives the pitcher an advantage. Yu Darvish pitched extremely well in his Opening Day start against the Diamondbacks, but he seriously struggled away from home last season going 2-7 with a 5.54 ERA. This Padres team also used its top relievers last night. The Giants tend to hit righties well and should take care of business at home against Darvish. Darvish appeared better than his actual stats against a weak Arizona lineup. The Giants will have discipline at the plate and get to him early and take advantage of the weak bullpen.
