March Madness College Basketball Betting Analysis for March 27th

2:20 p.m. ET: Miami Hurricanes (26-10) vs Kansas Jayhawks (31-6)

Spread: Kansas -5.5
Total: 147

Kansas will be able to take advantage of Miami’s weak defense in ways that the Iowa State offense could not. Stopping the Hurricanes’ offense is no easy task, but Kansas allows only 41.2% field goal shooting and 30% three-point shooting. The Jayhawks have a big edge in rebounding especially on offense with Kansas grabbing 32.1% of their offensive rebounds compared to just 20.2% for Miami. Miami is ranked 311th in the nation in defensive rebounds. In Miami’s three wins over USC, Auburn, and Iowa State, the Hurricanes forced 47 turnovers and gave it up only 7 times before turning it over 13 times against Iowa State. Kansas doesn’t turn the ball over and plays much better defense than those teams. This isn’t a good shooting Miami team, especially from the outside. The Canes are just 13 of 40 from three in the tournament and have to get their points in transition or by getting to the rim which will be tough against the Kansas interior. Look for Kansas’ offense to show up since they didn’t against Providence and the defense to keep on grinding. Look for Kansas to cover this spread.

5:05 p.m. ET: Saint Peter’s Peacocks (22-11) vs North Carolina Tar Heels (27-9)

Spread: UNC -8.5
Total: 137

Saint Peter’s defeated Purdue 67-64 in the Sweet 16, using relentless defense to shut down Jaden Ivey, who finished with just 9 points on 4-of-12 shooting with 6 turnovers. North Carolina will play fast should learn from Purdue’s mistakes and get the ball inside to the big men. Purdue had a hard time getting their big men touches down low and as a result, didn’t open up the perimeter. UNC will be looking to pound the ball down low and knock down threes which will be something Saint Peter’s hasn’t seen all tournament, a team that can score consistently inside and out. The Tar Heels can take advantage of the Peacocks’ habits of fouling too much since they are a top-25 free-throw shooting team. The Tar Heels are scoring an average of 87.0 points per game in the Big Dance and the Peacocks won’t be the team to slow them down. We will be seeing a Duke vs. UNC in the final 4 after this game, take the Tar Heels to cover this one.
