9:30 p.m. ET: Kentucky Wildcats (0-0) at Duke Blue Devils (0-0)
Spread: Duke -1
Total: 149
This game is part of the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden with neither team participating in the NCAA Tournament last season. Duke’s season ended after a member of the roster tested positive for COVID-19, leaving the Blue Devils with a 13-11 record. Kentucky had a 9-16 record. Duke does bring three starters back and should have the best player on the floor in freshman Paolo Banchero, who could be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The Wildcats have another loaded roster this season. UK might be without Iowa transfer CJ Fredrick, a great three-point shooter. The Blue Devils are 39-2 in openers under Krzyzewski, including winning 21 straight. Kentucky has a lot of talent but it will be questionable to see how they gel together whereas Duke should be ready to roll. Look for the Blue Devils to get the first win of the season.
