The Guardians just swept the White Sox in a doubleheader yesterday and the first game was ugly with error after error on the defensive side. The Guardians played all their guys in both games and used up most of their bullpen while the White Sox rested a lot of guys in both games. Plesac has started this season well but the White Sox have a career team batting average of .338 against him with 33 hits in 115 at-bats including 3 homers. Cease has given up 9 hits in 36 at-bats against this Cleveland team but has got off to a good start this season giving up only 5 hits and 2 earned runs in 10.2 innings pitched against Tampa Bay and Detroit. The White Sox will be hungry for a win today after the 2 bad losses in the double-header which should have this offense ready to explode against a familiar Plesac. After yesterday’s results, the public is all over the dog but stretching back to last season, the White Sox have won 5 of its last 6 games when Cease gets the start and should be able to keep it rolling here.
