The Vols have been dominant, winning 8 straight games and 13 of the last 14. Tennessee ranks 2nd in defensive efficiency and 1st in overall.  The Wolverines split their last 6 games and they haven’t looked impressive while giving up 70+ points in 4 of the last 6 games.  The Wolverines didn’t shoot the ball well in their last three games, making only 43% of their shots and 32% of their three-pointers. The Volunteers have been dominant in recent games, holding 3 of their last 4 opponents under 60 points. Tennessee has all the momentum right now after winning the conference tournament and a blowout victory in the 1st round. Tennesee will be hard to stop with the way they are shooting the ball and Michigan just doesn’t have the offense to keep up. Look for the Vols to get the job done today. 

6:10 p.m. ET: Richmond Spiders (24-12) vs Providence Friars (26-5)

The Spiders got the big win over Iowa but they don’t deserve a lot of credit for it. Iowa beat themselves with a terrible offensive and defensive performance. The Friars are a very good defensive team and Iowa is not. The Spiders would not have been a tournament if they hadn’t won the A10 tournament. The Friars will shut down Richmond’s mediocre outside shooting. Offensively, Providence always has five legitimate scoring options on the court that can score in a variety of ways. The Friars will win the rebounding battle and find the clutch buckets down the stretch. Richmond has allowed opponents to shoot 44.1% from the field and 33.7% from three-point range and the Providence offense is in a prime spot to take advantage of that weakness. This is still the same Providence team that won the Big East and should be able to take down Richmond in a low-scoring battle.
