8:20 p.m. ET: Green Bay Packers (6-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-0)
Spread: Cardinals -6.5
Over/Under: 50
This Thursday Night Football game features two of the best teams in the NFL. This is a great matchup with the undefeated Cardinals (7-0) hosting the Packers (6-1). The Packers have won 6 straight and just beat Washington 24-10 and the Cardinals just dominated the Texans 31-5. This line opened with Arizona listed as a 3.5-point home favorite. The public was jumping all over the Packers. But then the Packers placed several players on the COVID list, including top wide receiver Davante Adams along with fellow wideout Allen Lazard which shot the line went up to -6.5. The Packers also will be without defensive coordinator Joe Barry, who is also out because of COVID-19. Green Bay will be missing its defensive genius as it attempts to slow down an Arizona offense averaging over 32 points per game. The Cardinals have scored 31 or more points in six of their seven games behind quarterback Kyler Murray, who is one of the leading MVP candidates. Murray has passed for 2,002 yards and 17 touchdowns against five interceptions. He has tossed three or more touchdowns on four occasions. Murray threw for 261 yards and three scores in last Sunday’s 31-5 win over the Houston Texans. Defensive end J.J. Watt (shoulder) will be out for the Cardinals in this one but the Cardinals’ strong defense has kept the teams’ offense at bay. The Cardinals will have players returning from the Covid list as well as their Coach, Kliff Kingsbury. Arizona is getting sharp action even after the J.J. Watt news, look for this line to continue to rise to -7. Take the Cardinals to get the cover in this Thursday Night Football matchup.
